All-rounder Krunal Pandya showcased his excellent fielding ability when he took a well-judged catch to dismiss Shreyas Iyer during the afternoon fixture of IPL 2025 between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) Sunday, April 20 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.
After RCB skipper Rajat Patidar won the toss and opted to field first, PBKS got off to a dazzling start, with Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh hitting the ground running. However, the two openers were dismissed in quick succession by Krunal as PBKS lost two wickets inside the first seven overs with 62 runs on the board.
Romario Shepherd, who is making his debut for RCB, bowled the eighth over of the PBKS innings. His fourth delivery was in the slot for PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer to hit a maximum. The Mumbai-born went for the big shot down the ground but couldn’t establish proper connection with his willow.
The ball went high up in the air over the bowler’s head, and Krunal scampered a long way to his left and took a remarkable running catch. He rolled onto the floor, preventing his elbows from hitting the ground to avoid the ball popping out of his grip. Shreyas could only make six runs off 10 deliveries as RCB got themselves a huge breakthrough thanks to Krunal’s magnificent fielding display.
